Ich habe Veränderungen auf Zell- und Schaltkreisebene in Tiermodellen von Angst und Furcht untersucht, indem ich verschiedene Ansätze wie Elektrophysiologie, Verhalten und Pharmakogenetik (DREADDs) kombiniert habe. Meine derzeitige Forschung konzentriert sich auf die Identifizierung physiologischer und pathologischer Veränderungen in den Aktivitätsmustern des Hippocampus und deren Beziehung zur Modulation hippocampaler Engramme in Tiermodellen neuropsychiatrischer und neurodegenerativer Störungen. Ich interessiere mich auch für die Auswirkungen von Umweltfaktoren und deren Wechselwirkungen mit dem Immunsystem bei der Vermittlung von affektivem Verhalten.
